Pickup Truck Driver Flees The Scene Of Crash In Westchester, Police Say

A pickup truck driver took off in Northern Westchester after he was involved in a two-car crash in Bedford.

Officers from the North Castle Police Department received a call at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4 regarding a crash in the area of East Middle Patent Road in Bedford. The caller reported that she heard a single car speeding down the roadway, strike a tree and leave the scene.

Shortly thereafter, the Bedford Police Department issued an alert reporting a two-car crash on Route 172 in Bedford. Police in Bedford said that one vehicle took off from the scene of the second crash and fled the area.

Members of the North Castle and Bedford police departments canvassed the area, attempting to locate the second vehicle.

Investigators described the second vehicle involved in the crash as a royal blue pickup truck with damage to the front end and driver’s side. The incident remains under investigation.
